Deft has played his 500th LCK game. On Mar. 14, in the 2021 League of Legends Champions Korea Spring Split, Kim "Deft" Hyuk-kyu played in his 500th LCK game, as a member of Hanwha Life Esports. He celebrated his 500th game with a win.
Deft had his debut in 2013 in MVP Blue. He played in Samsung Blue, EDward Gaming, kt Rolster, Kingzone DragonX, and is currently playing for Hanwha Life Esports. Over his career, he won many championships in the LCK and the LPL. In his career, Deft was always among the top players. In his 500 LCK games, Deft's record in the LCK was 311-189 with a 62% win rate.
More than his record as a pro player, Deft was always known to be a model pro player. During his rookie years, he was considered a genius monster, but as he gained more years through his career, he was praised as a symbol of a model pro gamer.
"It would be good if I'll be able to keep fighting, but as much as I've played for this long, I know that I don't have that much time left,” said Deft. “There's still the issue with my military service, so I'd have to consider retirement very soon. I need to treasure my remaining games and do well."
Up to now, only two other players reached the 500 games milestone. Go “Score” Dong-bin and Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok. Among them, Faker recently had reached his 600th game.
"I still want to win a lot. There have been regretful moments regarding my individual performance recently, but I believe I could solve that problem. Unless I feel that I'm so bad that I can't play anymore, I won't give up,” said Deft, still showing his determination.
Deft didn’t forget to thank the fans, “I was able to come this far because all of the fans cheered for me whether or not I played well. I’m really thankful. I’ll continue to do my best.”
