G2 Esports mid laner Rasmus "Caps" Winther has been named the Kia Motors Most Valuable Player for the 2020 League of Legends European Championship Summer Split. Caps' MVP win was announced before the finals of the 2020 LEC Summer Playoffs between G2 and Fnatic.

G2 Esports struggled for a good amount of the Summer Split, but Caps' individual level of play remained best in class throughout summer and was a huge part of the team's resurgence heading into the post-season. Caps played well enough in G2 Esports' third consecutive LEC championship run in spring after switching roles with AD Carry Luka "Perkz" Perković, but after returning to the mid lane, Caps has returned to his otherworldly form showcased in previous seasons.

The Kia Motors 2020 LEC Summer Split MVP award is the 3rd LEC award of its kind in Caps' collection. Caps won his first MVP in the 2018 EU LCS Summer Split as the star mid laner of Fnatic, and won the award again back-to-back in the 2019 LEC Spring Split after joining G2 Esports. Caps was also named the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational Most Valuable Player in the European region's first MSI title in League of Legends esports history.

Throughout the past few seasons, G2 Esports has amassed quite the collection of awards. In the only two splits of the last five that Caps was not named MVP, G2 jungler Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski won the award back-to-back in the 2019 LEC Summer Split and the 2020 LEC Spring Split.

G2 Esports will try and best Fnatic for its fourth consecutive LEC title, and both teams have qualified alongside Rogue and MAD Lions to represent Europe at the 2020 League of Legends World Championship.
