Arch-Thief Rafaam, new cards coming to Hearthstone Battlegrounds in December 5 patch

▲ Arch-Thief Rafaam is coming to Hearthstone Battlegrounds.

With the (almost) full League of Explorers added to Blizzard Entertainment's auto-chess game mode, Hearthstone Battlegrounds, in a recent patch, it only makes sense that one of their most notorious villains joins them. In a recent stream, Mike Donais, the Principal Game Designer on Hearthstone, confirmed that Arch-Thief Rafaam will be coming in a patch coming on Thursday, December 5.

No additional information has been provided as to what his Hero Power may be or what form he will take when the patch does go live later this week.

Two new baddies join the action

Alongside Rafaam, at least two new cards will be entering the selectable pool, according to a recent Blizzard blog post. Long-time Hearthstone fans will notice a familiar face as Floating Watcher, introduced back in the Goblins vs. Gnomes set, is set to be introduced. If his card text is the same as it is in the traditional card game, Floating Watcher will make sense on Demon boards that plan to inflict a sizeable amount of pain to themselves and their opponents.

The second card, which was confirmed in the blog post, is King Bagurgle. A Tier 5 Murloc that gives his tribal allies a little extra oomph when he is played and dies, King Bagurgle's presence will almost certainly be felt by the opponents. His upgraded version packs an even bigger punch upon dying.

It's unknown if the Battlegrounds' team will provide more information as to what Thursday's patch will look like prior to it going live. But if the details above are any indication of what's the come, fans of the game mode won't have to wait too much longer to get their hands on some new toys.
