Nexpace announced plans on the 15th to expand its next-generation ecosystem, marking the first anniversary of its blockchain project, 'MapleStory Universe.'

Since its launch on May 15, 2025, 'MapleStory N' has recorded 150 million cumulative on-chain transactions and 3.82 million registered accounts. The pre-launch Scroll NFT campaign saw 1.7 million items minted, marking the largest such event in the history of the Avalanche network.
Currently, the marketplace sees an average of 446716 daily active traders, accounting for 23.3% of all activity on the Avalanche network. NXPC, the ecosystem's base currency, is listed on seven major exchanges, including Binance, Bybit, Upbit, and Bithumb.
The Web3 gaming market, once limited to simple play-to-earn (P2E) models, is shifting toward sustainable ecosystems built on intellectual property (IP) and user-generated content (UGC). Amid this market evolution, the performance of 'MapleStory Universe'—which leverages established IP from a major game developer—is seen as a significant case study in successfully transitioning traditional Web2 users into a blockchain environment.
Nexpace will roll out 'MapleStory Universe 2' in phases from this year through 2027, with the goal of evolving from a single game into a full-fledged platform.
Its core technology, VIBE IP, provides creators with dedicated APIs to access gameplay and behavioral data from 'MapleStory N.' By building the Henesys chain on an Avalanche Layer 1, the project integrates IP licensing, revenue settlement, and payments into a single system. Additionally, AI-based creation tools will be provided to enable non-developers to produce on-chain content. Nexpace plans to further integrate other Nexon IPs in the future to build a multiverse ecosystem.
'MapleStory N,' the cornerstone of the ecosystem, is shifting its focus toward increasing accessibility for general users. The project aims to reduce blockchain-related friction that previously acted as a barrier to entry, focusing instead on the core fun of a traditional MMORPG.
During last winter's update, the game saw an influx of 130k users, 75% of whom were new. During that period, in-game spending by users exceeded the scale of rewards, proving the self-sustainability of the economic system. The development team plans to solidify long-term success by introducing large-scale content, such as the Black Mage, and a new MVP system for loyal users this year.
Nexpace CEO Hwang Sun-young stated, "In the Web3 gaming market, we have evolved beyond a single game into an infrastructure for creation, commerce, and participation. We will build an infinite playground where IP serves as both an economic system and the foundation for the next generation of online worlds."
