South Korean eFootball representatives Kim Do-gyeom (Mobile) and Song Young-woo (PC) were eliminated from the Esports Championships Asia 2026 (ECA 2026) qualifiers held at the Jinju Arena on the 24th, finishing 5th out of six teams with a 1-4 record.

In the first match of the qualifiers, Song Young-woo conceded the opening goal against Hong Kong's Hong Sen Chen but fought back to level the score at 2-2. However, he conceded a goal just before the final whistle, losing the first round 2-3. Nevertheless, Kim Do-gyeom secured a 3-0 victory in the eFootball Mobile match, giving South Korea the win on goal difference.
The second round was against Thailand. In the first set, played on PC, Song Young-woo lost 0-1. In the mobile set, Thailand scored the opener, and after adding another goal just before the end of the second half, South Korea lost the round 0-2.
In the third round against Vietnam, Song Young-woo lost 1-2 on PC, and Kim Do-gyeom also fell in the mobile match, bringing the record to 1-2. In the fourth round, a Korea-Japan matchup, Song conceded an early goal to Ikuya Kida but quickly equalized. Despite continued attacks, he could not find the net again, and after the opponent scored a go-ahead goal, Song lost 1-2.
With a 1-3 record after the loss to Japan, South Korea was eliminated from the qualifiers regardless of the result of the final fifth round. In that final round against China, South Korea hoped to end on a high note, but after a 0-2 loss in the first set and a 2-2 draw in the second, they were eliminated with a final record of 1-4.
