Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE debuted a new trailer Thursday during The Game Awards, offering a fresh look at the action role-playing game during the annual ceremony at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
The trailer focused on the game’s fast-paced combat and its central gameplay mechanic, the Monarch Awakening system, which allows players to temporarily unlock the full power of protagonist Sung Jinwoo. During these moments, Jinwoo transforms into his Monarch of Shadows form, significantly altering combat flow through heightened speed, expanded abilities and large-scale enemy encounters.
Solo Leveling: ARISE OVERDRIVE launched globally on Nov. 24 and has since posted a strong early performance on Steam. The game ranked No. 8 on Steam’s global Top Sellers list, with regional placements including No. 7 in the United States and No. 5 in Germany and France. According to Steam user reviews, the title currently holds a “Mostly Positive” rating, with more than three-quarters of reviews recommending the game.
Offline Mode and console plans confirmed
Developer Netmarble has indicated that additional features are in development following player feedback. In a recent developer note, the studio confirmed work is underway on an offline mode, a frequently requested addition since launch. Netmarble also announced plans to release a console version of the game in 2026, though specific platforms and dates have not yet been disclosed.
Based on the globally popular webtoon Solo Leveling, the game adapts the series’ narrative into an action-driven RPG format. Players follow Jinwoo’s progression from a low-ranked hunter to one of the most powerful figures in the story’s universe. The game includes character progression systems, customizable skills and cooperative content such as four-player raid battles.
Netmarble has positioned ARISE OVERDRIVE as a more combat-focused entry within the broader Solo Leveling game lineup, emphasizing fluid movement, rapid attacks and large-scale boss encounters. The studio has continued to release updates addressing balance and performance concerns raised by players since launch.
