Riot Games has launched Myths & Legends, the newest Teamfight Tactics (TFT) set and the final release for the auto-battler in 2025. Built around the Runeterra universe, the update introduces 100 units, a new “Unlock” progression system, and a slate of cosmetic additions rolling out throughout the month.
The set includes a mix of champion favorites and iconic monsters such as Baron Nashor, Rift Herald, and Atakan. According to Riot, Myths & Legends features the widest strategic flexibility of any TFT set to date, supported by more than 300 Augments and the ability to acquire specialty units through Unlock missions tied to specific traits. Players begin with 60 core units and can earn an additional 40 by completing in-game objectives. These units include Zahen—unlocked by obtaining the “Twilight Trial” Augment and maintaining a 3-star Xin Zhao for five rounds—and Brokk, a high-impact unit built around disruptive crowd control.
New cosmetics are also available starting today, including Prestige Mini Bloodmoon Miss Fortune, Liberated K/DA Ahri, Liberated Rebel King Darius, and the Le Café de Paris Arena.
Both Content and Competition Reach Their Largest Scale This Year
To accompany the launch, Riot is running the “Legendary Play” event through Tuesday, Dec. 23. Players can earn “Rune Cards” by playing TFT and redeem them for chances to win items such as the TFT Legendary Goods Package, the TFT Runeterra Hoodie, or 200 Treasure Tokens. A separate “Legendary Ranking” track rewards the top 500 ladder players with additional prizes, including Treasure Tokens and merchandise.

On the competitive side, TFT’s global tournament circuit returns with the TFT Paris Open, taking place Dec. 12–14 in Paris, France. The event marks the competition’s third year and features a prize pool of roughly 450 million KRW. Ahead of the tournament, Riot is releasing promotional content featuring model Jung-hyuk, actress Yeonwoo, and influencer Palchasun, all of whom will appear in the event and associated media pieces such as Runeterra Expedition.
