On Feb. 16, in the 2024 LCK Spring Split, KT Rolster defeated Nongshim RedForce 2-0 and extended their winning streak to four straight wins. In the match, KT Rolster showcased picks that hadn’t appeared in the LCK for a long time, such as Zyra and Rammus. The Players of the Game in this match were Gwak “Bdd” Bo-seong and Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu. After the match, they joined Yoon Soo-bin on stage for an interview.

How do you feel about today’s win?

Bdd: I thought the opponents were relatively weak compared to our previous match, but my teammates were rather anxious. We often fell in this situation, but it’s a relief that we won.

Deft: We had a hard time winning our last match, and it would have felt really empty if we lost today, but fortunately, we won. Our performance wasn’t as clean as expected, so we need to improve more.

In game 1, Zyra appeared in the LCK for the first time in 1,315 days. How was it playing the Ashe-Zyra bot duo?

Deft: We practiced Zyra a lot during scrims, so we were going to play it when we had the chance. We didn’t expect to play it with Ashe, though, but I think it was pretty good.

Do you think it’ll appear more often?

Deft: Ashe gets banned often, but if it doesn’t get banned, I think it’ll appear from time to time.

Bdd picked Azir first in game 1. The opponent was Taliyah, and you’re good at both champions. How did you think you would play out the game?

Bdd: Both champions have their advantages. I was confident in playing both champions, so I picked Azir confidently. I thought I should play strong, and it worked out well.

Do you think Azir would maintain a high tier in the 14.2 patch?

Bdd: I think everyone feels comfortable playing Azir, whether it’s picked first or last. It’s a good champion.

In game 2, Rammus appeared for the first time in almost 12 years. What’s the story behind the pick?

Deft: Pyosik kept appealing during scrims that he learned Rammus when he was in NA and that he always wins when he plays it. So we thought we’d play it when we had the chance, and today was that day.

In game 2, you played Caitlyn went with the Lethality build. What are the strengths of that build?

Deft: When the team’s AP is balanced well, it’s difficult for the opponents to build armor, and in that situation, the Lethality build goes well with Hail of Blades.

You and BeryL played Caitlyn and Ashe, and wore the 2022 Worlds championship skin. Did you discuss it in advance?

Deft: We actually didn’t, but who would wear it if we don’t? [Laughs] We just naturally picked them.

Your next match is against Hanwha Life Esports. How will you face them?

Bdd: We’ll prepare well and continue our winning streak.

Deft: Games with top-tier teams are coming up, and we’ll work hard to win. Thank you.
