On January 10, the media day for the 2024 LCK Spring Split took place, featuring one coach and one player from each team answering the media’s questions. When asked about the team that seems to be the strongest this season, everyone unanimously pointed to T1.

Responding to being the most mentioned team, T1 head coach Kim "kkOma" Jeong-gyun stated, "The reason for being the most mentioned is probably because the players are performing well. I am glad. I chose Gen.G as the team that will do the best. I feel good and grateful for being mentioned the most."

In response, Son "Lehends" Si-woo, who transferred to Gen.G, expressed gratitude for being singled out by T1 and promised to live up to expectations. Newly appointed Gen.G head coach Kim "KIM" Jeong-soo commented, "T1 tends to perform better in big matches, so they are likely to win."

Nongshim RedForce head coach Heo "Irean" Young-cheol, inspired by T1's performance at Worlds, remarked, "The games of T1 were impressive and stylish. Moreover, with kkOma's return, the synergy seems good, and there should be no shortcomings." Top laner Park "DnDn" Geun-woo also selected T1 for the same reasons.

During the stove league, veteran bot laner Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu returned to KT Rolster. He described T1 as the team with the most diverse ways of winning. KT head coach Kang "Hirai" Dong-hoon shared a similar thought, as he said, "Considering that the team that won the most recent tournament has the same members and a good coach has returned, I think they will be strong."

Kwangdong Freecs head coach Kim "cvMax" Dae-ho praised T1 for their flexible and efficient victories, stating, "I have seen them win in various ways without being confined to a specific pattern. Even with meta changes, I expect T1 to perform well." Kim "Taeyoon" Tae-yoon also chose T1 for his pick.

Han "Peanut" Wang-ho, who joined Hanwha Life Esports, also picked T1, noting, "The members have built up synergy for a long time, and they won Worlds. On top of that, kkOma returned. They would be right back on track." Hanwha Life Esports head coach Choi "DanDy" In-kyu also chose T1 based on their strong performance from the previous year.

Liiv SANDBOX rebranded as FearX this year. Kim "Willer" Jeong-hyeon, the team's jungler, stated, "I think T1 will maintain both skill and team synergy." The head coach, Yoo "Ryu" Sang-wook, added, "Their performance at Worlds was excellent, and the players have a high understanding of the game, so they will adapt quickly to the new meta."

DRX Park "Teddy" Jin-seong commented, "I think their team movement is good," while head coach Kim "Micro" Mok-kyoung said, "With the same members retained, they are extremely strong, and having a coach familiar with being defending champions return to T1 is also helpful."

Dplus KIA Heo "ShowMaker" Su stated, "The roster of the strongest team in the world has been maintained, and with the capable head coach kkOma joining, they have become even stronger." Similar sentiments were echoed by the returning head coach Lee "Zefa" Jae-min, who said, "T1 has too many diverse ways to win."

OK BRION's Park "Morgan" Ru-han echoed Zefa's sentiments, and head coach Choi "Edgar" Woo-beom mentioned, "After winning Worlds, there might be a sense of relaxation, but kkOma will handle it well."

With all the teams picking T1 as favorites, Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok humbly responded, "Given the current situation, it seems like we were chosen because we won the most recent tournament. If we work hard and luck follows, I think we can achieve good results."

On the other hand, kkOma laughed and said that all the attention feels like a burden. "Players are performing so well, so everyone spoke positively about us. Since the players have undergone an intense schedule for a long time, my goal is achieving good results while keeping the players healthy."
