Esports in Higher Education Discussed at McNees, Harrisburg University and Whitaker Center Esports Seminar

 

HARRISBURG, Pa. – McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC, Harrisburg University and Whitaker Center Esports Seminar will feature higher education administrators and consultants explaining the role of esports in higher education.  The event is scheduled for September 7, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m at Whitaker Center in Harrisburg.

The higher education panel consisting of Bruce Crowley of Frieda Partners, LLC, Jordan Pallitto of The Hill Group and Eric Darr of Harrisburg University will give insight on how to determine if an esports program is right for a college or university.  They will also explain how the programs are regulated and the McNees Higher Education Practice Group will provide answers to legal obstacles.

Bruce Crowley is a behavioral and motivational economist and is the co-founder and senior managing partner at Frieda Partners.  While holding corporate leadership positions in more than 50 industries, Crowley has 15 years of publicly traded and private company Board experience.

Jordan Pallitto is Vice President of The Hill Group.  Pallitto specializes in strategy development and business planning across sectors.  In addition, he is a Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO) Standards for Excellence Trained and Approved Consultant.

Eric Darr is President of Harrisburg University.  Under Darr’s leadership, the University launched a varsity esports program and became the first University to award full scholarships to esports athletes.  The team is set to start competing Fall 2018.

The seminar, led by the McNees Esports Practice Group, will also cover the legitimacy of esports, team ownership, gambling, and investment & sponsorship opportunities.

Registration for the Esports Seminar costs $99.  On-site registration and continental breakfast will be from 8:15 a.m. to 9 a.m.  Lunch will be sponsored by the Pennsylvania Esports Coalition.
