Esports organization FaZe Clan is dropping a new installment of its ongoing collaborative partnership with Manchester City Football Club. The new FazeCity collection will be released at 12:00pm PT on Saturday, December 12, 2020.
FaZe Clan and Manchester City FC originally partnered in September 2019, and one of the cornerstones of that partnership has been the FaZeCity collection. The first FaZeCity drop is currently available on its dedicated section of the FaZe Clan website.
The first FaZeCity drop featured a plethora of custom-branded merchandise that featured the logos of both teams on the trademark light blue color of Manchester City FC's jerseys. The drop consisted of a jersey, a hoodie, sweatpants, a scarf, a beanie, a controller, and a soccer ball. Players from both teams posed in the merchandise for the release. The first edition of the FaZeCity collection was released in June 2020.
FaZe Clan and Manchester City Football Club have extended their partnership for another year. “Manchester City’s partnership with FaZe Clan has strengthened our extensive esports offering and allowed us to further explore how fans are experiencing football beyond the pitch," said Nuria Tarre, chief marketing officer at City Football Group in an official release by the team.
"Fans have embraced this partnership as it has allowed them to combine their passions for football and gaming in ways that have never been seen before in football.
Manchester City FC isn't the only football club to take interest in esports over the past few years. Many a club has invested in League of Legends teams in the Turkish Championship League, and FC Schalke 04 Esports, a professional League of Legends team founded by the parent football club in 2016, was one series away from qualifying for the 2020 World Championship after a miracle run in the League of Legends Euroepan Championship.
