The League of Legends World Championship starts next month, taking place in Shanghai, China. In partnership with Nike, the Chinese league LPL has announced a new line of merchandise based on the teams that will represent the region.
The collection features the four teams that will represent the Chinese region or the League of Legends Pro League. Among them are Top Esports, Suning, JD Gaming, and LGD. The previous World Champions, FunPlus Phoenix, unfortunately, will be missing out of this year’s competition, which means no merch for us.
Team uniforms have been redesigned, shying away from the classic “V” shaped uniform seen in the LPL. For the World Championship, the team gear has a special flair to it, featuring a bigger logo in the front, and unique pattern designs to the shirt.
Separated from the Worlds collection, yet still, in partnership with the LPL, Nike has launched the “Good Game” collection. With a modern look, sporting LPL stadium colors, the collection features shades of red, white, gray, and blue, highlighting gamer icons. This drop includes a swoosh sweater, two hoodies, and a t-shirt, as well as five different pairs of shoes.
The Worlds series shoe design features iridescent Air Jordans Zoom Air, inspired by the League of Legends World Championship trophy, the Summoner's Cup. To complement the design, the Summoner’s Rift is embroidered on the shoe tongue.
If you are interested in copping a few of the designs, they will be available during the World Championship, sometime in September. You can check the Nike app for more information.
