Best counters for Genesect Shock Drive raids

There aren’t many counter types for Genesect, as it’s a Bug/Steel-type Pokemon - in fact, the only counter is Fire-type attacks. Genesect is especially strong against Poison or Grass-type Pokemon, so make sure you keep them out of your deck when attempting raids. As much as Genesect doesn’t have many counters types, it’s double vulnerable against Fire-type attacks.

Best Moves and Skills for Genesect Shock Drive

Although it has alternate forms, Genesect is best utilized as a Bug-type attacker. The available fast moves for Genesect are Fury Cutter (Bug-type) and Metal Claw (Steel). Metal Claw has better DPS but Fury Cutter has faster attack speed and generates more energy. It depends on which type of attacker you need. Since good Bug-type attackers are rare, it’s more recommended to use Fury Cutter.

There are three charged moves for Genesect Shock Drive. As it’s in Shock Drive, it can learn Zap Cannon (Electric) as a charged move. However, Genesect cannot benefit from STAB if it learns Zap Cannon, and it takes forever to charge the attack.

The other choices are Magnet Bomb (Steel) and X-Scissor (Bug). If you choose to make your Genesect a Metal-type attacker, you can go with Magnet Bomb, but as mentioned above, choosing Bug-type skills will make your Genesect a great Bug-type attacker, so it’ll be best to go with X-Scissor.

New and old Pokemon keep on appearing all over the world. Keep up with the raids and catch’em all!
