KT Smeb: "I have no excuses. I acknowledge the fact that I'm not at my best. I want to do well, however, so I'm making sure to practice as hard as I can"

On the 25th, at the LoL Park, the 8th day of the 2019 LCK Spring took place. The first series of the day featured KT Rolster and Jin Air Green Wings, in which KT was able to come out on top with a score of 2-0. Veteran top laner, Smeb, contributed to his team's victory by playing his top lane role reliably for his team.

The following is an interview with Smeb.

You've finally won a match here at the LCK. How do you feel about that victory?

It's our first win in 4 matches. I'm very happy. With this victory, I'd really like to go on a winstreak.

Why do you think your team was struggling so much at the beginning of the split?

Our bot lane has two new players, so they needed time to adapt to the team. While the bot lane was adapting, the upper lanes struggled, and I think that's why we lost so many games. However, I won't let this affect me. Last Summer, we had a poor start at the split but won the tournament in the end. The same thing can definitely happen this year, too.

How did you prepare for today's match?

Our practice currently revolves around finding teamwork. In addition, we were underperforming as individuals as well, so we made sure to improve on our mechanics.

Some people have been stating that Smeb has been underperforming as a player this Spring.

I have no excuses. I acknowledge the fact that I'm not at my best. I want to do well, however, so I'm making sure to practice as hard as I can.

Even if I can't perform to meet the fans expectations, please have faith in me and wait. I know that I can do well again.

KT played non-ADC champions in the bot lane today and had shown an overall different type of playstyle.

Zenit is great on non-ADC champions, so I believe we can continue to show the fans diverse and unique strategies on stage. The keyword in our feedback is "learn to understand each  other's situation in a game." The top laner, mid laner, and the bot duo all need to understand what is going on around his teammates to do well.

Your next opponent is Gen.G Esports, a team that has also been struggling here in Spring.

Both GEN and KT are struggling right now. I predict the game to be a close one.

Any last words?

Our team has indeed been struggling, and I find myself to be lacking as a player. I know that fans are worried.

I'll do my best to prepare well for the next match.
