MaRin comes back to LCK and joins Afreeca Freecs

Gyeonghwan "MaRin" Jang has officially come back to LCK after signing with Afreeca Freecs.

MaRin had already mentioned on December 3rd that his LGD Gaming contract had expired. Shortly after, Afreeca Freecs announced through Facebook that MaRin decided to join the team.

Upon his arrival to Afreeca Freecs, MaRin said, "Hello, I am LoL toplaner Gyeonghwan "MaRin" Jang who will come back to LCK as 'AFs MaRin'. I am thrilled to play in my home country’s league but at the same time worried if I will be able to do well and satisfy Korean fans as I did before when my performance was at its peak. However, my passion is bigger than my worries, so I will try hard to do well, not only in LCK but also in international tournaments."

2015 was a major year for MaRin. He had a notable performance in LCK and went far to prove his skill to many LoL fans around the globe by winning the MVP award at Worlds 2015. He was a toplaner that successfully utilized different types of champions and acquired the nickname "Maora" after his notable plays with Fiora. He also was good with Maokai and Rumble, and his excellent skills with such diverse champions placed him among LCK's best toplaners.

LCK 2017 has many star players returning to Korea, including Hyukkyu "Deft" Kim, Sehyung "Mata" Cho, and Wonseok "PawN" Heo all coming back from LPL. Players are preparing themselves to claim the throne once again in LCK.
