Afreeca Secures the Last Ticket For the Summer Split Playoffs. SKT T1 Advances to the LCK Regional Finals

On the 8th of August (KST), Afreeca Freecs defeated Jin Air Green Wings in the 2018 LCK Summer Day 42 match 1 and qualified for the playoffs. Afreeca managed to proceed to the playoffs after competing for the last ticket with Hanwha Life Esports. Meanwhile, with finishing 4th place in the Spring playoffs, SKT T1 advanced to the 2018 Worlds LCK Regional finals.

Afreeca Freecs became a strong playoffs contender starting from last year. Although they did lose in the Wild Cards match last year, they managed to come in a close second place in 2018 Spring. With again qualifying for the playoffs in this Summer, it will be their 6 consecutive playoffs starting from 2016.

For the first time in their LCK career, SK Telecom T1 will not be performing in the playoffs. Although SKT's Summer has come to an end, there still are hopes for 2018 Worlds. SKT advanced to the 2018 Worlds LCK Regional Finals since Hanwah Life Esports failed to reach the Summer playoffs.
