On the 2nd of August, at the Sangam e-Stadium, the 38th day of the '2018 LCK Summer Split' took place. On the 2nd series of the day, KT Rolster defeated Jin Air Green Wings with a score of 2-1. With this victory, KT is now placed 1st in the LCK standings. Throughout today's series, Score displayed fantastic performance, playing as one with his team. In the interview following the series, Score mentioned that this split is by far the toughest one he had played in his career.
The following is the full text of the interview with KT Score.
How does it feel being placed 1st in the standings?
We aren't locked in for 1st yet, so I'm not too ecstatic. We also struggled during today's match, so we'll have to prepare thoroughly for our remaining games.
I want to hear about Pawn playing in today's match.
He had played with us in the past, so I told him to relax and give it his best.
Did you expect today's match to be this difficult?
JAG played really well in their previous series, so I was really nervous coming in today. Both sides had a lot in the line today, so everyone was really focused on the game. I think we won today because we remained focused.
How is your leg? Is it fully healed now?
My doctor told me to take it easy when walking. He also added that I need to be on crutches for at least another month. Currently, I'm walking around without them. There's still a bit of pain in my leg, and I can't walk around normally yet.
In your opinion, who is today's MVP?
Smeb did well in both games that we had won, so I think that's why he received the MVP title. Overall, Ucal did really well too.
You'll soon play against Hanwha Life Esports. How will you prepare for that match?
Each and every match is important for every team, therefore, we can't underestimate anyone. We lost to HLE during Round 1, so we won't let our guards down. Currently, we've had revenge on most teams that we lost to in Round 1. I want our revenge against HLE as well.
Everyone had a busy schedule this split, but even still, there wasn't a single split outside of this one where teams are still fighting it out this far in into the tournament. No one is locked in yet in the LCK standings. I think this split, by far, is the most competitive one in the history of LCK.
It's possible for KT to advance directly into the Summer Finals.
Our coach talked to us about it after today's match. Each and every game is important. We'll make sure to solely focus on our plays and avoid worrying about who we're facing.
Any last words?
The LCK Summer Split is nearing its end. I want to thank all the fans that cheer for us. We'll prepare well for our remaining matches and show good performance.
