Riot Games Announces Dates and Host Cities for their 2018 League of Legends World Championship


Taking place in Korea, Riot Games announced the schedule for the 2018 World Championship through their official website.

The following are the dates and host cities for each stage of the tournament:

▣ Play-In Stage: Seoul, October 1~4, 6~7

▣ Group Stage: Busan, October 10~17

▣ Quarterfinals: Busan, October 20~21

▣ Semifinals: Gwangju, October 27~28

▣ Finals: Incheon, November 3


According to Riot Games, tickets will be sold through Interpark, with more information coming throughout the next couple of weeks - including venues. Riot Games also apologized for their delay in releasing detailed information regarding the World Championship, stating that the location that they chose for the Championship Finals fell through late during the selection process. The following is their statement. "We’re deeply sorry to those whose travel plans have been impacted by this short notice. This was a series of unfortunate events - many due to decisions that we made - and we have plans to fix this in the future, including a multi-year roadmap for which regions and cities we’ll be visiting."
