[Rift Rivals] AFs Kuro on EDG: "In the LCK, there are nearly no players that play that aggressively."

Afreeca Freecs coach Lim “cComet” Hye-sung said that they’ll stick to their macro style after defeating LMS’ G-REX.

Afreeca Freecs (AFs) lost to EDward Gaming (EDG) in the first day of the Rift Rivals. EDG’s aggressive plays pushed AFs into a corner, and in the early game, Lee “Scout” Ye-chan solo-killed Lee “Kuro” Seo-haeng.

On the game against EDG, cComet said, “We weren’t able to fully apply what our comp was capable of. We should have avoided teamfights and played the macro game, but there were many mistakes.”

“We were frustrated by their aggressive plays. In the LCK, there are nearly no players that play that aggressively. It wasn’t a matter of our conditions.” Kuro said.

Being asked if it is necessary to change the team’s playstyle, cComet replied, “The teams that are good fighters have a fast tempo. I think we should play to their tempo, giving up what should be given up and taking what we can. It just didn’t work yesterday, and I think there’s no problem.”

On the question of which team they would like to play against, Kuro picked EDG and Park “TusiN” Jong-ik said that he wanted to meet RNG, whose bot duo is strong. Kim “Kiin” Gi-in said, “It’s the first time I’m being cheered so much in a foreign country. I’ll put in a lot more effort to become the best top laner in the world.”
