Ruler and CoreJJ on the Asian Games: "We’re going to focus on both our performance as well as the team’s results."

On June 7th(KST), the Korean Asian Games LoL national team left for Hong Kong for the preliminaries. Gen.G’s Bottom duo, Ruler and CoreJJ, shared their thoughts on representing Korea.

As the national team’s ADC, Ruler was eager to get a chance to perform with the other LCK players. “It’s an honor to be able to perform in the Asian Games. I’m curious about how the other team’s Junglers make calls and how they play the game. That’s why I’m looking forward to performing alongside Score and Peanut.”

According to CoreJJ, Faker was the most active player during practice. The Korea’s Support shared some of his thoughts on the national team as well. “This isn’t just about playing in the preliminaries. It’s about getting ready for the main event on the 18th. There wasn’t enough time to practice with my new teammates. Still, getting a chance to play with other players itself is new and interesting for me.”

The Worlds champion, KSV (currently Gen.G), was not in their best shapes in the 2018 LCK Spring split. Some fans were worried about the fact that the national team’s Bot lane duo was from a “5th place team”. However, Ruler and CoreJJ did not seem pressured. Ruler said, “There is only one way to go forward: we’ll have to perform well.” His partner, CoreJJ seemed eager to prove himself as well. “We’re going to focus on both our performance as well as the team’s results.”
