Homme Named as New JD Gaming Head Coach

Yoon “Homme” Sung-young has been named as JD Gaming’s new head coach.

On the 23rd of May (KST), JD Gaming (JDG) of the LPL announced that they’ve named Homme as their head coach through their Weibo account. On joining JDG, Homme said, “Strong teams need a strategic leader as much as talented players.”

Homme had his debut as the top laner of MVP Ozone. He led the team to the championship of OLYMPUS Champions Spring 2013, making top lane tank meta popular. Afterwards, he started coaching in Samsung White, leading the team to the world championship in 2014.

Meanwhile, JDG had signed Kim “Clid” Tae-min and Lee “Loken” Dong-wook. JDG reached the playoffs with a record of 10-9 in the LPL 2018 Spring – East but lost to Bilibili Gaming in the first round. As Homme joined JDG, many are wondering how they will perform at the upcoming summer split.
