Monster Hunter: World 7.5 million copies sold worldwide, “becomes Capcom's best-selling title"

Monster Hunter: World, the latest title of the Monster Hunter series that has sold over 40 million copies worldwide, has become Capcom’s best-selling title.

On their official website, Capcom announced today that Monster Hunter: World has sold over 7.5 million copies, including their digital download sales. This marks Capcom’s biggest sale in history; the Monster Hunter series has reached a cumulative sales of more than 48 million copies as of March 5th. The current cumulative number of players so far is 7 million.

The explosive sales of the game is likely due to the sudden increase of the game’s popularity in the EU, NA, and Asian regions outside of Japan. Haruhiro Tsujimoto, the CEO of Capcom, announced that the sales of Monster Hunter: World in the Asian region has reached 10 times that of original series.

Monster Hunter: World is a hunting action game in which players fight against colossal monsters in diverse and beautiful environments. The game was released for PS4 and Xbox ONE on January 26th and will have a PC release soon.
