On October 21, Pearl Abyss released a preview video for "Charting the Unknown," the first downloadable content (DLC) for Crimson Desert Enhanced. Charting the Unknown will launch simultaneously worldwide on October 30.
The preview video showcases new content added in the DLC, including ocean sailing, underwater exploration, character relationship building, facility management, and expanded housing. The narrative continues as Kliff, Damiane, and Oongka, having protected Pywel through fierce battles, forge their own paths and encounter new characters.
This DLC opens up the ocean of Pywel as a new stage for exploration. Players can gather resources to construct ships and sail the open ocean in vessels customized to their liking. By defeating hostile forces on islands discovered while sailing and establishing strongholds alongside their Greymane companions, players can earn rewards. Underwater, players can use crafted diving suits and newly added underwater transportation methods to locate sunken ruins, treasures, and resources.
A character relationship system will also be introduced. Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane can build trust with specific characters to develop romantic relationships or even get married. Characters who become close will visit the Greymane camp to spend time together.
Players can directly manage and operate liberated strongholds. This involves leasing certain facilities across Pywel, assigning companions and equipment, and selecting goods to sell and operational strategies to accumulate wealth. Housing has been expanded from interior decoration to placing structural elements like walls and windows, as well as designing the fundamental layout of the house. Upon liberating certain castles, players can decorate the interiors to use them as residences.
As for combat content, a challenge to face powerful bosses of Pywel in sequence will be added. Players can test their combat skills and new strategies, defeating bosses to earn rewards.

He added, "We hope players will discover new adventures and forge new stories through the newly introduced content, including ocean exploration, romance, management, and upgraded housing."
Pre-orders for 'Crimson Desert Enhanced: Charting the Unknown' are currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games Store. All players who pre-order will receive the in-game items 'Unknown Explorer's Diving Suit' (Kliff, Oongka) and 'Unknown Explorer's Light Diving Suit' (Damiane).
