Minimap announced on the 16th that the mystery adventure game Hope in the City, which it operates, is participating in Steam Next Fest and releasing a demo version.
The official release date is scheduled for November 10. The game will launch on Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox PC, supporting Korean interface and subtitles. The demo unveiled at this event features the early portion of the game.
According to Minimap, Hope in the City was nominated in three categories at the 2026 Gamescom Dev Awards, including Most Promising Game. It was also named a finalist for Excellence in Narrative at the 2026 Busan Indie Connect Festival (BIC).
The game's development is handled by Canadian indie studio Lofty Sky Entertainment. The protagonist is 17-year-old Hope Song, who searches for the whereabouts of her missing parents. Set against the backdrop of Northeast Asia, the story delves into the mystery surrounding her family and the protagonist's inner journey as she investigates surrounding locations and people.
Investigation progresses by recording observed clues and thoughts in the protagonist's sketchbook and connecting gathered pieces of information. Players piece together the case by interpreting clues through Hope's keen observation and artistic sensibility. The game also features non-linear gameplay and a distinct triangle-based art style.
