Nexon announced on October 16 that it has released a 10th anniversary update for its mobile MMORPG MapleStory M. The update includes the new HEXA Skill Core 'Ascent Skill' and 'Arteria,' a new region accessible to characters level 282 and above.
Introduced following 'Origin Skill,' 'Ascent Skill' attacks enemies across a wide area with powerful damage. Invincibility is applied while using the skill, and in boss battles, it can be used up to three times without a cooldown.
The new region 'Arteria' is set aboard the giant battleship of Apostle 'Reina,' who invaded 'Maple World'. Players who complete all quests in this newly added area on the continent of 'Grandis' will receive 'Authentic Symbol: Arteria'.
The 10th anniversary events will run until November 11. The world co-op event 'Mobilize! Ursus Expedition' has players across all worlds join forces to defeat the boss 'Ursus.' Characters level 100 or higher are eligible to participate, and progress is tracked per account. Players enter the dungeon using tickets, and once players across all worlds achieve the specified world goals, all participants will receive rewards such as '10th Anniversary Coins.'
The EXP dungeon event 'Protect Aru and Eru's Festival' also runs until November 11. Characters level 100 or higher receive one entry per day and can select up to three characters in their current world to gain EXP. Players can also select their main character as a companion character, allowing them to concentrate EXP gains on a specific character.
Running during the same period, 'GP Coin Burning!' is open to guild members with characters level 30 or higher. As cumulative completions of daily guild tasks increase, the buff stats rise, granting additional 'GP Coins.'
Players can also collect '10th Anniversary Coins' through activities like 'Dress Up Mr. Kim.' In the '10th Anniversary Shop,' these coins can be exchanged for items such as 'Legendary Growth Potions' and 'Star Force +1 100% Enhancement Scrolls (1–30 Stars).' The separate 'Aru's Anniversary Shop' and 'Eru's Anniversary Shop' feature items including 'Cerion,' 'Eternal Rebirth Flames,' and 'Transfer Scrolls'.
MapleStory M marked its 10th service anniversary on October 13. To celebrate, Nexon will host an offline event, 'MapleM CELEBRAT10N DAY,' on October 17 at MAPLE AGIT in Gangnam, Seoul. The event, attended by pre-ticketed players, will feature a quiz show and boss time attacks for fans who have been with the game over the past decade.
