The Smilegate Orange Planet Foundation announced on October 16 that it has finalized the selection of 12 startup teams in its regular recruitment process for the second half of 2026. The selected teams will be offered office space at the Gangnam Center for up to one year, and Smilegate Investment will give priority consideration for seed investments of up to 500 million won per team.
The selection process was conducted in three stages: document evaluation, in-depth interview, and presentation review. Among the final teams, eight joined Orange Garden, which supports preliminary and early-stage ventures, while four joined Orange Farm, which prepares startups for full-scale scaling up.
This recruitment batch included teams possessing proprietary technologies in preferential fields newly established for the second half of the year. Selected deep-tech teams span sectors such as digital healthcare and hyper-personalized medical services using domestic medical data, humanoid robotics, Physical AI, and data center power efficiency.
The selected companies include Daidal Games, which is developing COGGS, a prompt-based automatic game generation engine platform. VBODY showcases a 3D human body reconstruction and analysis AI solution, while Secore Robotics provides a vision-based 3D spatial awareness robot AI solution. In the medical sector, selected companies include Evom AI, which handles AI-based early diagnosis infrastructure for cardiovascular diseases; Persly, which develops medical AI agents for critical care patients; and Dadadoc Healthcare, which operates a pediatric AI telemedicine platform.
In addition to residency support, Orange Planet will provide expert mentoring tailored to each stage of growth and networking opportunities with senior entrepreneurs. For financing support, it plans to leverage priority consideration for seed investment from partner Smilegate Investment and connections to the Tech Incubator Program for Startups (TIPS).
Sang-bong Seo, head of Orange Planet Center, said, "In the second half of this year, we focused on discovering promising startups, spanning not only existing high-potential industries but also deep-tech fields such as medicine, robotics, and AI that will drive future innovation." He added, "Orange Planet will be a growth partner that helps startups with outstanding technology focus solely on advancing their business so they can rise to become global unicorns."
