CFK launched the PS5 version of the roguelite action RPG Nightmare: The Lunatic worldwide on October 16. Two physical editions and a digital edition were released simultaneously, with H2 Interactive distributing the physical editions in Korea.
In combat, players can select up to three weapons and swap between them in real time depending on the situation. Gameplay involves dodging enemy attacks with dashes and evades or countering with parries, while making use of special attacks. Players seek clues to escape the nightmare by defeating bosses in each region.
Developed by Maetdol Games, the title follows the journey of a protagonist trapped in a never-ending nightmare with no memory. With assistance from a 'Dream Merchant' who also became caught in the nightmare, players explore the recurring dream and fight to eliminate the root of the nightmare. Following its console debut on Nintendo Switch last year, the game has now expanded its platform reach to PS5.
The dungeon layout changes with each playthrough, and reaching a game over sends players back to the starting point. Players can build their character by upgrading contracts and abilities unlocked during the adventure, alongside progression elements that enhance base stats.
The physical release comes in a standard edition and a first-print limited edition titled Nightmare: The Lunatic Collector's Edition. The Collector's Edition includes the base game physical copy, a newly illustrated box, an artbook, a 2-CD original soundtrack featuring 27 tracks, and a special diorama acrylic stand.
The PS5 version is single-player and supports Korean, English, Japanese, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Porting and publishing are handled by CFK.
