FIFA and the Saudi Esports Federation have postponed FIFAe Finals 2026, an international national-team esports tournament, just one day before its scheduled opening on October 16.
According to Reuters, organizers announced on October 15 that they decided to delay the event after assessing the impact of recent regional developments on the logistical and operational preparations required to host the tournament. The revised dates and venue have not yet been disclosed and will be announced at a later time.
FIFAe Finals 2026 was originally scheduled to take place from October 16 to 25 at the Abadi Al Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The tournament was set to feature national teams competing for titles across three categories: eFootball console, eFootball mobile, and Rocket League.
Prior to the official postponement, several participating nations had already withdrawn due to security concerns in the host country. Reuters reported that Riyadh International Airport in Saudi Arabia was attacked on October 10, and the national teams of Japan and Brazil withdrew from the competition on the same day after evaluating local conditions.
