SOOP will host the Google Play ASL Season 22 Finals on October 17 at Lotte World Ice Rink in Jamsil. Yoo Young-jin (T) and Kim Min-chul (Z) will face off in a best-of-seven series for the championship.
In this final, Yoo is aiming for his first ASL title, while Kim is seeking his fifth overall championship. Having finished as runner-up in the Season 14 finals, Yoo has reached his second ASL final. Kim currently holds four career titles and will rely on his solid defense and macro play to claim another victory.
On his path to the finals, Yoo secured a victory in the semifinals against Lee Jae-ho (T) with tailored play countering his opponent's strategies. Kim fought a Zerg mirror match against defending champion Park Sang-hyeon (Z). After dropping the first two sets, Kim stormed back with four consecutive set wins to seal a comeback victory and advance to the finals.
ASL is an esports league played on Blizzard Entertainment's real-time strategy (RTS) game StarCraft: Remastered, marking its 11th anniversary in 2026. SOOP plans to set up a large special stage at Lotte World Ice Rink in Jamsil to support live viewing for fans attending the event.
