Path of Exile 2 will officially launch on December 12 (KST). The official launch version will incorporate content additions and improvements made over roughly two years since early access began on December 7, 2024.
According to materials provided by domestic publisher Kakao Games Corp., Path of Exile 2 ranked No. 1 in Steam global top sellers prior to the start of early access. In South Korea, it reached a peak PC cafe ranking of 9th, according to PC cafe analytics service The Log. The official release date was revealed last August at Gamescom 2026.
Key details regarding the launch version will also be revealed at ExileCon 2026 in New Zealand. Hosted by developer Grinding Gear Games, the event will take place on November 7 and 8 (KST). First held in 2019, this marks the event's return after three years since 2023. The event will also offer hands-on opportunities with new content, including the new 'Duelist' class pre-revealed at Gamescom 2026.
Content expansion during early access spanned new classes, campaign chapters, and endgame systems. The 'Huntress,' introduced in April 2025 with the 'Dawn of the Hunt' expansion, is a class that wields spears to switch seamlessly between melee and ranged combat. In August of the same year, 'Act 4' was added to the campaign through 'The Third Edict.'
In December 2025, the 'The Last Druid' expansion introduced the new 'Druid' class. Then in May 2026, 'Return of the Ancients' revamped the endgame 'Atlas' and introduced new Ascendancy classes.
Grinding Gear Games has continuously updated game balance, the item economy, and endgame systems based on player feedback. Class balancing, trade system enhancements, and quality-of-life improvements were also carried out during the early access period.
Following the original Path of Exile, Kakao Games has provided official Korean localization, PC and console cross-platform services, and dedicated Korean servers for this sequel. The publisher has also continued activities for local players, such as hosting collaborative content featuring partner streamers and users, and distributing early access keys through Chzzk Drops events.
Ahead of the official release, an authentication event for domestic users is being held in connection with global pre-registration. Players who complete global pre-registration and upload proof-of-participation images to the Kakao Games event page will be entered into a raffle to win merchandise, including limited-edition Path of Exile 2 figures, mugs, and desk pads.
