Manjuu Games, the Shanghai studio behind Azur Lane, has announced an English-version open beta test (OBT) for Azur Promilia, its free-to-play fantasy role-playing game (RPG), for summer 2027. The news comes as the game passes 20 million pre-registrations worldwide. Exact dates have not been shared.

According to a release dated October 13th 2026, the beta will run on a dedicated U.S.-based server. The game has never been playable in English. Manjuu also put out its first English promotional video, ‘Kibo Safari’, which opened the game's official English account on X (formerly Twitter).

Pre-registration lets players sign up for a game before launch. An open beta is a wider public test (closed betas are limited to selected players). Manjuu recently finished its third closed beta in Mainland China, the release says.

“Reaching 20 million global pre-registrations is an incredible milestone for our team, and we are deeply grateful for the enthusiasm shown by fans worldwide,” said a spokesperson for Manjuu Games. The spokesperson added that the team is ‘actively working on the English version’ after the China test, aiming for ‘a high-quality experience’. They called the English channels ‘key steps’.

Azur Promilia is in development for PlayStation 5 (PS5), PC, iOS and Android. Players bond with creatures called Kibo. Kibo fight beside the player in combat; through the home system, they also take on chores such as farming or crafting. Players can build a team of characters (each with Kibo companions) to try different playstyles against enemies and major bosses.

Manjuu's signature character design moves into full 3D here, which the release calls a ‘visually captivating wonderland’. The world, Promilia, is filled with magic and ‘creatures of wonder’, according to Manjuu. The story pushes players to explore it.

Giveaway and English channel on X

A community giveaway started on October 13th across the game's official social channels. The top prize: Apple AirPods Max 2. Full rules, plus the campaign period, are posted on the AzurPromilia_EN account on X.

Manjuu says that account will be the game's English hub during development, with developer notes and official announcements. New assets, including the ‘Kibo Safari’ video, are being shared to mark the beta news. More reveals are coming, the release says.

Manjuu Games was founded in Shanghai in January 2015. The studio makes anime-style mobile games; its flagship, Azur Lane, has done well in China and overseas, according to the company. Manjuu is also branching out into animation, comics, merchandise and other spin-offs. Azur Promilia is its newest project.
