Arc System Works Asia Co., Ltd. has announced that a PlayStation 5 version of BlazBlue: Central Fiction is currently in development. Text support for four additional languages—French, Italian, German, and Spanish—will also be added for modes including Story Mode.
This announcement was made on-site at EVO France 2026 in Nice, France. The PlayStation 5 version will feature rollback netcode for online matches and support cross-platform play with the Steam version. Upgrades from the PS4 version to the PS5 version will also be supported.
Along with the added languages, an update will add the character 'Trinity Glassfille' to the roster and introduce new features to Training Mode. Specific update details and schedules will be announced at a later date.
BlazBlue: Central Fiction combines 2D fighting games with visual novels, delivering the final chapter of the BlazBlue series storyline. It features a diverse roster of playable characters and game mechanics designed for high-level mind games.
The BlazBlue series originated in 2008 as an arcade 2D fighting game. Its core mechanic is the 'Drive' system, which grants each character unique actions such as 'health absorption' and 'freezing'.
