A new teaser trailer has been released for EVANGELION: Δ CROSS REFLECTIONS, the upcoming extended reality (XR) game based on Neon Genesis Evangelion.
The trailer was posted on September 29th by EvangelionXR_JP, the official Japanese X (formerly Twitter) account for the Evangelion XR project. It had already been shown to attendees at a hands-on preview event in San Francisco before going public. XR is an umbrella term that covers virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality (MR).
"We're releasing the new teaser video for EVANGELION: Δ CROSS REFLECTIONS, which was first shown at the San Francisco Hands-on Preview venue," the account wrote in a post translated from Japanese. "Please take a look!"
The post did not include a release date, platform details or new gameplay information. It also gave no further detail on what attendees were able to try at the San Francisco preview.
What we know about the Evangelion XR game so far
The project was first announced on February 21st 2025 by Pixelity Inc., a developer that specialises in VR, MR and XR games. According to the announcement, Pixelity signed a licensing agreement with Khara Inc. to adapt Neon Genesis Evangelion into a game, and is handling both planning and development.
At the time, Pixelity said the game would be released as a trilogy covering all 26 episodes of the original anime. The first instalment was in development with a 2026 release target. The new teaser post did not say whether EVANGELION: Δ CROSS REFLECTIONS is that first instalment, or whether the 2026 target still stands.
Players will control a character created specifically for the game, whose story runs alongside the events of the anime. Pixelity said missions would be built around XR's immersive features, with battles it described as having 'a high sense of realism'.

The game will also let players interact with characters from the series and includes cooperative play. Pixelity has pitched the overall package as an action-adventure game, and said further details would be shared over time.
About Neon Genesis Evangelion
Created and directed by Hideaki Anno, Neon Genesis Evangelion first aired as a 26-episode TV anime in 1995. Theatrical releases followed from 1997 onwards.
The series is set in 2015 in Tokyo-3, a city under attack from mysterious beings known as Angels. Its lead character, Shinji Ikari, is chosen to pilot an Evangelion, a humanoid combat weapon that acts as humanity's last line of defence. The story follows him and his fellow young pilots as questions grow about what the Angels really are.
Pixelity has credited the anime with sparking Japan's third anime boom in the 1990s. According to the company, the series set records for music and video sales and helped pioneer media mix strategies, where a single property is spread across formats such as anime, games and merchandise.
