PUBG Studios has ended development of PUBG: Black Budget after reviewing the project's progress and where it was heading.
According to the announcement, the studio judged that the game, on its current path, could not become something players would keep enjoying in the long run. PUBG Studios, which develops the battle royale game PUBG: Battlegrounds (originally PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds), called the cancellation a 'difficult decision'.
Black Budget never reached a full release. Up to this point, it had only been playable during Closed Alpha tests, which are early versions of a game opened to a limited group of players while it is still in development.

In its statement, the studio thanked the players who took part in those tests. "We sincerely thank everyone who took the time to participate in our Closed Alpha tests and share their feedback," PUBG Studios said.
What comes next for PUBG Studios
The announcement did not name any upcoming games, and it gave no details on what the cancellation means for the team that worked on Black Budget. PUBG Studios did say it would take what it learned from developing and testing the game into future projects.
The studio added that it would keep listening to players "as we explore new gameplay experiences." No timeline was given for when any of those projects might be shown to the public.
