Netmarble has launched a crossover between Seven Knights Re:BIRTH and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, bringing four of the anime's heroes into its collectible role-playing game (RPG). The event began on October 1st and will run for four weeks until October 29th.
According to a release, the collaboration is split into two updates. The first runs until October 15th, when a second update will take over for the final two weeks. The Korean game developer and publisher said further details will be shared in stages through the game's official community.
Which Demon Slayer heroes are in Seven Knights Re:BIRTH?
Tanjiro Kamado and Zenitsu Agatsuma are available through Pick Up Summons (the game's featured summoning banners) for the full four weeks. Giyu Tomioka and Shinobu Kocho will be added during the second phase, which starts on October 15th.
Players do not have to rely on summons to get Tanjiro, though, as he is also available as a day-one check-in reward. Netmarble said this lets players add him to their roster straight away and progress towards his Awakening more easily. Nezuko Kamado also joins as a new Legendary Pet, which can be earned through gameplay while the event is live.
Infinity Castle and Akaza boss stages
The update also adds two new pieces of collaboration content. Infinity Castle is a special event mode that, according to the release, works in a similar way to the game's existing Infinity Tower, with rewards handed out for clearing floors. Akaza appears separately as a boss in the Event Challenge Stages.
Netmarble has not yet said what the October 15th update will include beyond the two new heroes. The company described the second phase as bringing more content and events, which will run until the collaboration ends on October 29th. Updates will also be posted on the game's official website and forum, as well as its Facebook and YouTube channels.
What is Seven Knights Re:BIRTH?
Seven Knights Re:BIRTH is built on Seven Knights, which Netmarble calls its flagship intellectual property (IP). The company said the original game has passed 100m cumulative downloads. The new version carries over the original's story, characters, combat systems and core mechanics, and Netmarble said it has updated the experience with more modern features.
Founded in Korea in 2000, Netmarble is the parent company of Kabam, SpinX Games and Jam City, and is a major shareholder in HYBE and NCSOFT. Its catalogue includes several titles based on established franchises, such as Solo Leveling: ARISE, MARVEL Future Fight and The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross. The Demon Slayer collaboration adds another licensed anime property to that portfolio, this time inside one of its own series.
