'Football Manager 27' (FM27), the flagship football management simulation series, will launch worldwide on November 10. The latest installment overhauls overall matchday presentation, featuring a dynamic time-of-day system where the sun's position shifts across the 90 minutes of play.
On September 30, Sports Interactive (SI) confirmed the release date for FM27 on its official website and released a Deep Dive video focusing on the matchday experience.
The focus of the Deep Dive video is creating an atmosphere closer to a real-life stadium. The development team designed crowd enthusiasm to follow the action on the pitch, from pre-kickoff tension to late equalizer moments right before the final whistle. Crowd models and atmosphere variations have increased, with regional and climate differences reflected. A winter match in Europe and a warm-day match in Japan feature noticeably different crowd attire. Supporters wearing team jerseys appear in the stands, while high-stakes fixtures like cup finals or derby matches see a surge of fans waving flags.
Stadiums are also receiving a revamp. Modern-designed stadiums built between 1990 and 2010 have been added, alongside improved textures, shading, and color rendering. The newly introduced time-of-day system alters the sun's position during a match, causing shadows cast on the stadium, surrounding environment, and players' bodies to move dynamically. Environmental details also vary depending on the time of the season.

Pitch conditions have also evolved. New pitch types feature 3D grass, and improved VFX systems ensure the pitch surface appears visibly wet during rainy matches. On snowy days, players must compete on pitches covered in accumulated snow.
Pre-match cutscenes now support multiple camera angles per shot. According to the developers, a five-shot cutscene with three angle options per shot can play out in over 200 variations. These changes are especially prominent in Premier League and UEFA competitions, producing different shot combinations for pre-match build-ups and trophy presentations.
Player models feature enhanced muscle definition for a more athletic build. Hair moves naturally when sprinting, a change that is most noticeable in women's football. Realistic hair physics are also applied to short-haired managers.
This Deep Dive follows previously revealed UI changes. SI shared details regarding FM27's new screen layouts on August 25. Tailored news stories correspond to stages of the season—such as club previews, mid-season reviews, and final-stretch title races—while rumors surrounding managerial sackings within the same league increase around times when sackings traditionally peak in real life.
Club, competition, news, and nation screens have been redesigned across the entire game. The club screen allows players to instantly check the manager, top scorer, and key performers right from the header bar. A Competition Hub screen was also introduced, providing an overview of all leagues and competitions included in the save.
The progression flow is changing as well. The destination screen varies each time the Continue button is pressed, and players can select their preferred gameplay experience during the setup phase. Additionally, cup draws have returned, and agent offers during transfer deadline periods appear on the recruitment screen throughout the transfer window rather than solely on deadline day, with offers increasing as the deadline approaches.

Meanwhile, FM27 will release simultaneously on November 10 across PC, PS5, Xbox, and Netflix mobile, with wishlist registration opening alongside the release date announcement. Information regarding other platforms will be disclosed at a later date.
A Launch Preview version is scheduled to go live 1–2 weeks prior to the official release. Detailed information regarding the preview, digital pre-orders, and discount benefits will be announced later. FM27 is the second title in the series following its transition to the Unity engine, and SI stated that more features remain to be revealed.
