Joycity's '3on3 FreeStyle' and a new title based on the Korean IP 'Yulgang' have received Chinese import game licenses (publishing approval for imported games). Two of the three foreign games approved in September are based on Korean IPs.
According to the September imported online game approval results released by China's National Press and Publication Administration (NPPA) on the 30th, the three approved titles are '3对3街篮' (3on3 Street Basketball), '热血江湖：重启' (Yulgang: Reboot), and '现代坦克' (Modern Tanks).
'3对3街篮' is the Chinese service title for Joycity's basketball game '3on3 FreeStyle'. The platform is PC, with Shanghai Haojia Information Technology Co., Ltd. taking charge of both publishing and operations. '3on3 FreeStyle' is the sequel to 'FreeStyle', an online basketball game released in 2004. It has been serviced on PS4 and Steam ('3on3 FreeStyle: Rebound'). The predecessor 'FreeStyle' established a solid player base in China under the title '街头篮球' (Street Basketball). With this license, the sequel will also be able to enter the Chinese PC market.
'热血江湖：重启' received its license as a mobile game. Publishing is handled by Shanghai Kingnet Network Technology Co., Ltd., while operations are handled by Hangzhou Chenyou Network Technology Co., Ltd. 'Yulgang' is based on the original comic series by Jeon Keuk-jin and Yang Jae-hyun. The IP became well-known in China through Mgame's MMORPG 'Yulgang Online', which has been serviced there for a long time. Chinese media had previously reported that Kingnet secured the development rights for a mobile game using the 'Yulgang' IP from Mgame. The developer and IP licensing structure for this title have not been disclosed.
Meanwhile, the remaining title, '现代坦克', was approved for mobile and PC platforms. Publishing and operations are handled by Beijing Kongzhong Messenger Information Technology Co., Ltd. This company is an affiliate of KongZhong, which is known for operating 'World of Tanks' in China.
