Top Hat Studios officially released the Metroidvania action-adventure Well Dweller, developed by Kyle Thompson, on September 22. Following its launch, the game recorded an 'Overwhelmingly Positive' user review rating on Steam and holds a Metacritic score of 91.
Well Dweller depicts a dark fairy-tale adventure set in a fallen kingdom where players fight beasts. As the new title from Kyle Thompson, creator of Crypt Custodian and Islets, it features a bizarre world and unique characters.
Players control Glimmer, a tiny bird armed with a matchstick, who must rescue their family captured by an evil queen. By gaining new abilities while exploring the kingdom, players can enter previously inaccessible areas, meet various characters, solve puzzles, discover hidden secrets, and unravel the story behind the kingdom.
Well Dweller launched on Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). It also joined Xbox Game Pass on day one.
