SOOP will host Matches 3 and 4 of the Google Play ASL Season 22 Quarterfinals on September 28 and 29 at 7:00 PM at FreecUp Studio in Daechi-dong, Seoul, played on StarCraft: Remastered. The two matches will determine two additional semifinalists.
Earlier, in Week 1 of the quarterfinals held on September 21 and 22, Yu Young-jin (T) and Lee Jae-ho (T) secured their spots in the semifinals. Together with the two players advancing this week, a total of four players will compete in the semifinals on October 5 and 6, with all semifinalists receiving a seed for the next tournament, ASL Season 23.
Match 3 of the quarterfinals on September 28 features a Zerg mirror match between Park Sang-hyun (Z) and Lee Jae-dong (Z). Park Sang-hyun won back-to-back championships in previous seasons, while Lee Jae-dong was introduced as an iconic Zerg player representing the ASL.
Match 4 of the quarterfinals on September 29 will see Shin Sang-moon (T) face Kim Min-chul (Z). Both players advanced to the quarterfinals from the Round of 16 through the winners' match and final match, respectively.
The quarterfinals are played in a best-of-five single-elimination tournament format. The first-place finisher from each Round of 16 group selects the map for Set 1, after which the player who lost the previous set selects the next map.
The Google Play ASL Season 22 Finals will be held on October 17 at 3:00 PM at Jamsil Ice Rink. Live broadcasts, replays, and information on match prediction events are available on the official SOOP ASL channel and SOOP Esports page.
In addition to sponsoring esports leagues, SOOP and Google Play are collaborating in platform services. SOOP introduced a feature that allows users to exchange Google Play Points—Google Play's reward program—for paid platform currency to use for live streaming donations and other services.
