To mark its 25th anniversary, SteelSeries is launching the Apex Pro Gen 3 LTD series gaming keyboards. The new lineup consists of two models featuring different actuation forces of 35g and 50g.
The Cyber comes with a 35g actuation force Speed option, targeting players who prefer a light key feel or play games with frequent skill and command inputs such as League of Legends (LoL). The Steel features a 50g actuation force Control option, designed for users looking to minimize misclicks in tactical FPS titles like VALORANT.
Both models are equipped with OmniPoint 3.0 adjustable HyperMagnetic switches. They feature a 0.54ms response time, with actuation points customizable in 40 steps from 0.1mm to 4.0mm in 0.1mm increments.
Rapid Trigger quickly detects key presses and releases to enable rapid repeated inputs of the same key. Rapid Tap prioritizes the next key pressed without requiring the user to release the previous key, allowing up to five registered pairs of key combinations. Protection Mode reduces accidental key presses by raising the actuation point of surrounding keys. SteelSeries explained that its gaming keyboards are the only ones in the industry to support all three features.
It also offers GG QuickSet to assist with per-game setups. Presets for actuation points, Rapid Trigger, Protection Mode, Rapid Tap, and RGB lighting can be applied with just a few clicks. The OLED Smart Display integrates with the SteelSeries GG software to display settings, profiles, and real-time updates.
The products feature premium stabilizers, triple-layer sound-dampening foam, and per-key lubrication. They are also equipped with an S-Tier Hall Effect Gen 3 sensor, which SteelSeries claims as an industry first. Adopting a tenkeyless (TKL) form factor, the keyboards reduce desk space constraints and movement restrictions.
