Physical editions of SUPER BOMBERMAN COLLECTION have launched across North America and Europe, though fans waiting on the Collector's Edition and Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will have to hold on until later in October.
According to a release from Paris-based Red Art Games and Konami Digital Entertainment (KONAMI), the Standard and Deluxe editions are available now on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 (PS5) and Xbox Series X, as well as through redartgames.com. The Xbox version is only being sold in Europe.
The Collector's Edition has been pushed back to October 16th, and the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will follow on October 30th. The Switch 2 version is exclusive to redartgames.com in Europe and retailer VGP in North America.
The collection was developed by Red Art Games' in-house studio. KONAMI, which owns the Bomberman series, handles the digital release. The release opened with the line 'Time to party like it's 1993!', a reference to the year the first Super Bomberman arrived on the Super Nintendo.
What's included in SUPER BOMBERMAN COLLECTION
The compilation brings together all five Super Bomberman games originally released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). Two of them, Super Bomberman 4 and 5, were only ever released in Japan. Both are now playable in English for the first time. In total, the release lists eight titles across 13 versions from Japan, Europe and the US. Super Bomberman 3, for example, is included in its Japanese and European versions.
Puzzle spinoff Super Bomberman Panic Bomber W is also getting its first Western release. The competitive game supports up to four players. On Switch, it is being added through a free software update.
The package also includes the original Bomberman and Bomberman II from the Famicom, the Japanese version of the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). According to the release, Bomberman II was the game that brought versus play to the series.

Beyond the games themselves, Red Art Games has added a new Boss Rush Mode, which lets players time attack every boss from each title. There is also a music player with songs from all six Super Bomberman games, a gallery of several hundred art pieces and a virtual unboxing feature. Save states and rewind are among the quality of life options.
Local multiplayer is supported, although the maximum number of players depends on the game mode and platform. The Switch 2 Edition also supports GameShare and GameChat, the console's game-sharing and chat features.
Physical edition contents
For the physical releases, Red Art Games scanned the original animation cels used in the 1990s to create the games' box art, manuals and official guides. The company said this was done to 'pay tribute to the classic 16-bit games'. The Standard Edition contains a copy of the game and a manual. It is available on Switch, PS5 and, in Europe only, Xbox Series X.
The Deluxe Edition is limited to 500 copies on Switch and PS5, rated by PEGI (Pan European Game Information, Europe's age rating system). It is sold exclusively through redartgames.com. Alongside the game and manual, it comes with an exclusive sleeve with alternate cover art and a bomb-shaped stress ball.
The Collector's Edition is only available as PEGI-rated Switch and PS5 versions. It includes the game, a box with retro cover art, a manual, a steelcase, a set of three enamel pins, a double-sided poster and a sticker sheet. Customers ordering from redartgames.com will also receive the stress ball.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition includes the game, a manual, an exclusive sleeve with retro cover art and the same stress ball.
