Gen.G lifted their seventh LCK trophy, defeating Hanwha Life Esports 3-1 to claim a sweet victory.
Pushed to the brink, Hanwha Life Esports prepared a counterattack with unconventional draft choices: Mid Locke and a red-side fifth-pick Top Fiora. 'Zeka' Kim Geon-woo's Locke roamed busily between top and bot lane according to their win condition, attempting to secure early initiative and snowball the game. Gen.G, however, consistently answered with cross-map trades, refusing to give up momentum easily.
While Hanwha Life Esports attempted to widen the gap by scoring kills simultaneously in mid and bot, Gen.G minimized their losses by taking down 'Zeus' Choi Woo-je's Fiora despite being at a numerical disadvantage. Afterward, Gen.G successfully countered HLE's Fiora-Locke side-lane setup and denied their Dragon stack, scoring a massive trade in the process. The momentum of the game was gradually shifting in Gen.G's favor.
Around the 19-minute mark, a sudden teamfight broke out, and 'Kanavi' Seo Jin-hyeok's Skarner was caught before Locke could arrive, resulting in a decisive teamfight victory for Gen.G. With the teamfight structure already collapsed, the fallen Fiora could do nothing. Locke, who was seeking an angle in the enemy jungle, was picked off, and Gen.G swept up the kills before securing Baron.
Empowered by the Baron buff, Gen.G marched down the mid lane. Fiora, who had been attempting a desperate split push, was forced to recall after Skarner was caught, but both the mid and bot inhibitors were destroyed regardless. Ultimately, winning the final teamfight in front of the Nexus towers, Gen.G focused down the Nexus to lock in the final victory.
