Tempo Storm Heroes: Disbandment & Future Plans

The disbandment of Tempo Storm Heroes, formerly known as Tempest, was announced on November 2nd. As the team had displayed phenomenal levels of synergy in terms of their approach to the game, this news came as a great surprise to many. The squad ends their two-season run together with three tournament victories: Superleague 2016 Season 2, the HGC Summer Championship, and Powerleague Season 2.

On their official website, the organization revealed “(…) the coach and players of Tempo Storm Heroes discussed the team's future, and agreed that it would be in everyone's best interest to split up. As a result, the team disbanded, and the players will be going their own ways.”

After the news was released, HongCoNo uploaded a short statement on Heroes Inven. In the post, he revealed the team was breaking up due to its members having different aims. After thanking their fans one last time, he stated he would stay in Heroes and play on a team with dami.

Other members of the team have yet to share official statements, but have communicated their tentative future plans. Hide & Lockdown will stay together in Heroes and either form or look for a team. On the other hand, OPrime and duckdeok are yet to decide their course and are weighing various options. Rally Jaffa plans to stay in the scene as an agent for Korean players and teams.

With so many talented players having become free agents just before the qualifiers for HGC 2017, the coming Korean offseason just may feature the most significant rostercalypse in Heroes of the Storm history. While not a single transfer has been confirmed yet, all twenty players from the top 4 teams are set to become free agents post-BlizzCon. There is no doubt they will consider all options.

Notable free agents outside of the aforementioned squads include Hooligan, Good, Magi, and JOKER, with the first three intending to play on the same team.
