To celebrate the 1st anniversary of THE KING OF FIGHTERS AFK, Netmarble has added the new KOF XIII version fighter 'Iori Yagami.' The publisher is also holding commemorative events, including 'Fighters Festa,' which awards 1 million Rubies to survey participants.

Netmarble (CEO Byung-gyu Kim) announced on September 4 that it has updated its character-collecting AFK mobile RPG THE KING OF FIGHTERS AFK, developed by Netmarble Neo, with a new fighter and 1st anniversary commemorative content.

The newly joined 'Iori Yagami' is a master of Yagami-style ancient martial arts and a fighter who forged a blood pact with Orochi, possessing [Rush] Synergy. Players can obtain the fighter through the 1st anniversary Arrival Event running until September 16. A pick-up event for [Rush] Synergy fighters will also run during the same period.

The 1st anniversary event 'Fighters Festa' will also run until September 16. Players who complete an in-game survey sharing their thoughts on the event and wishes for THE KING OF FIGHTERS AFK can receive 1 million Rubies.

The pet summon event, which has been ongoing since August 27, features the Legendary Pets 'Nitro' and 'Hippaka.' A Keepsake for 'Terry Bogard' has also been added, alongside a rerun pick-up event allowing players to recruit the fighter once again.

In the new mini-game 'Shaky Shaky Cake,' players can stack cakes according to precise timing. The 'Lucky Elpy' event, featuring the Legendary Supporter 'Lawrence Blood,' will run from September 7 to 11. The 'Happy Picnic' event, where players can obtain the Legendary Pets 'Sin' and 'Bonnet,' will take place from September 10 to 23.

THE KING OF FIGHTERS AFK is a character-collecting AFK mobile RPG built upon SNK's fighting game IP. Players assemble decks consisting of a minimum of 5 to a maximum of 25 fighters to engage in strategic battles, blending retro graphics with modern artwork. It also offers progression and competitive content.
