Blizzard has become a hot topic as reports emerge that the company hid messages on the official 'StarCraft' website hinting at a new title.

This news is spreading rapidly after being shared on the Reddit StarCraft community. It all began with a glitch effect added to the official 'StarCraft' website. Today (Sep. 4), the sudden appearance of the glitch effect drew intense interest from the community, and speculation grew further after Reddit user beyond1sgrasp discovered hidden messages via the website's developer console and posted the decoded contents.

A total of eight messages have been uncovered so far. True to the term, they take the form of in-game transmissions exchanged between parties. Among them, the message drawing the most attention was sent to the 'Roxara Moon Mining Complex'.

The message, explicitly dated August 8, 2575, details that a unit named 'Theta Squadron' is en route to Roxara and that a freighter will be dispatched ahead of them. It also warns that because the cargo consists of items vital to research, it must be handled with care, as even the slightest carelessness could jeopardize the entire operation.

Two elements in this message are particularly eye-catching: the location name 'Roxara' and the year '2575'.

Roxara is a location that served as the primary setting for 'Changeling', a short story published on the official 'StarCraft II' website. The short story follows the Terran Dominion dispatching the unsuspecting Zeta Squad to study a changeling hiding on Roxara.

The year 2575 is also noteworthy. Given that 'Legacy of the Void', the final chapter of the 'StarCraft II' trilogy, is set in the in-game year 2505, if this message indeed hints at a new story, it raises the possibility that the setting takes place roughly 70 years after the previous timeline. Of course, it remains unconfirmed whether this message has any direct connection to an actual new game.

In addition, several other messages have been uncovered, including medical records of individuals presumed to be squad members, as well as cargo manifests. However, none of the messages disclosed so far make direct mention of the existence of a new title or specific details about it.

Despite this, fans are buzzing because BlizzCon 2026 is just around the corner. With BlizzCon 2026 set to take place over two days on September 12 and 13 local time, the sudden addition of a glitch effect to the official website and the discovery of hidden messages naturally fueled anticipation for a new 'StarCraft' title.

Regarding the genre of a potential new game, many speculate it could be a shooter. Earlier this year, Blizzard posted job listings suggesting that the development of an open-world shooter based on 'StarCraft' was underway. Considering the past cancellation of 'StarCraft: Ghost', connecting these newly discovered messages to a new shooter game is a reasonable speculation.

However, at this point, it remains mere speculation based on circumstantial evidence. It is still unconfirmed whether the website's glitch effect and hidden messages are a genuine teaser for a new title or simply a fun easter egg.
