The September 3 update for MapleStory: Idle RPG has arrived. This patch features major content additions, including the new boss raid 'Pink Bean'. New items have also been added, alongside a variety of events.

In addition, a pity system (guaranteed summon system) has been added to weapon, companion, and artifact summons (gacha), as well as Star Force enhancement. Significant quality-of-life improvements have also been implemented, including auto-reset for potential stats and battle speed multipliers.

#. Pink Bean Arrives! New Equipment Slot 'Pocket' Added

The centerpiece of this update is the new boss, Pink Bean. The Pink Bean raid consists of three difficulty levels—Easy, Normal, and Hard—and players can challenge Easy difficulty after clearing the Chapter 32 boss.

Along with Pink Bean, a new equipment slot, 'Pocket', has been introduced. Players can obtain the Pocket item Pink Holy Cup from the Pink Bean raid, with higher difficulties awarding higher-tier and higher-level Pocket gear. In Hard difficulty, new Eye Accessories—the Black Bean Mark and Chaos Pink Bean Mark—can also drop.

#. Single Mode Introduced for Players Seeking Solo Challenges

The structure of boss raids has also undergone significant changes. While raids previously focused on party play, all bosses and difficulties can now be tackled in a solo-only Single Mode. In Single Mode, boss HP is reduced, but the encounter requires higher individual combat skill than a four-player party, while offering a higher chance of obtaining gear with more sub-stats.

The raid ticket system has also been reworked. Previously, all bosses shared four weekly entries, but now each boss is given two base entries per week. Additionally, players receive two shared boss raid tickets each week, which can be used on any boss of their choice.

#. Star Force Expanded to 30 Stars, Enhancement Points Added

The maximum level for Star Force has been expanded from 25 stars to 30 stars. Existing 23-star gear has been adjusted to 24 stars, 24-star to 26 stars, and 25-star to 28 stars. From 20 stars upward, a Final Damage increase effect is added alongside existing stat amplifications.

The key addition is the new Enhancement Point system. Failing an enhancement accumulates 1 point, a rank demotion gives 2 points, and equipment destruction gives 4 points. Once points reach the designated cap, the next enhancement is guaranteed to succeed. Rank demotion, which previously occurred starting at 13 stars, has been relaxed so that demotions now only begin when attempting 21 to 22 stars.

An Auto Enhancement feature has also been added. Players can set their target Star Force level and toggle rank drop or destruction protections to enhance gear automatically.

#. Guaranteed Summons Added for Weapons, Companions, and Artifacts

A pity system has also been applied to gacha summons. Guaranteed summon mechanics have been added to Weapon Summons (Lv. 18+), Companion Summons (Lv. 13+), and Artifact Boxes. If players do not receive top-tier target rewards within a specified number of summons, a guaranteed reward is granted.

Companion and Artifact summon gauges are tracked separately for Regular and Rate-Up (Pickup) summons. Importantly, the Rate-Up gauge is retained even when the featured Rate-Up target changes, preventing situations where players pull extensively without earning a payout.

Some past history will be retroactively applied. Records fulfilling conditions after March 1, 2026, will be counted for Companions, Artifacts, and Star Force. For Weapons, criteria differ slightly: summon counts conducted at Weapon Summon Lv. 18 after acquiring the most recent top-grade Ancient weapon will be added to the pity gauge. For players who already exceeded guaranteed reward thresholds, compensation will be distributed via in-game mail or Enhancement Points.

#. Up to 2x Speed Multiplier Applied to Arena and Guild Content

Speed options have been added across various game modes. Players can now select 1x, 1.5x, or 2x speed in Guild Battles, Guild Training Grounds, and Arena.

A Quick Battle option has also been added to the Arena. If a player's combat power is significantly higher than their opponent's, they can skip the battle screen and view the results immediately. Winning is not automatically guaranteed, as combat results are calculated using the standard battle logic.

#. Cube Resets Now Automated

An Auto Reset function has been introduced for Equipment Potential, Artifact Potential, and Footsteps of the Journey. For Equipment and Artifacts, players can pre-register up to three preferred stat combinations, automatically rerolling stats until a desired combination is achieved. Equipment Potential also gains a Rank Up mode, which ignores preferred stats and focuses solely on raising potential tiers.

Footsteps of the Journey has also seen improvements. The currency used for resetting locked potential stats has changed from Miracle Cubes to a new currency, 'Energy of the Journey', which can be acquired separately from the Regular Shop and Arena Shop.

#. Chapters 45–47 and Growth Dungeon Stages 141–150 Added

The top growth ceiling has been expanded. New Main Chapters 45, 46, and 47 have been introduced, and Growth Dungeons now offer higher stages ranging from 141 to 150. This provides high-level players who have progressed through most existing content with new progression goals.

Rewards for Footsteps of the Journey have also been buffed. Chapter unlock rewards for Footsteps of the Journey past Chapter 30 have been increased, and players who unlocked those chapters prior to the update will retroactively receive the difference in rewards.

By adjusting existing progression rewards alongside adding new chapters and expanding Growth Dungeons, this update supports both new content exploration and further progression for existing players.

#. Various Events Launched Alongside Pink Bean Boss Raid

Several events tied to the Pink Bean update are currently underway. Players can complete daily Pink Bean missions to earn 'Pink Bean Diaries', use them on Relay Stamps to collect Pink Bean Coins, and exchange them for desired rewards at the Exchange Shop.

Daily missions consist of three tasks: Defeat 2,000 monsters, Summon Elite Monsters 10 times, and Clear Weapon Dungeon once. Players can obtain up to 3 Pink Bean Diaries per day, totaling up to 126 through natural progression by participating daily from September 3 to October 14.

Using 125 Diaries allows players to complete up to Round 5 of the Relay Stamp, earning 55,000 Pink Bean Coins. Combining this with the 11,000 Pink Bean Coins awarded for accumulating 30 Diaries via daily missions, players can acquire a total of 66,000 coins without spending extra Blue Diamonds.

#. Raid Clear Events and New User Events Also Active

In the 'Challenge! Pink Bean Raid' event targeting the new boss, players who clear the raid up to 30 times total can receive 4 Pink Holy Cups, 200 Weapon Summon Tickets, 3,000 Elite Summon Points, 30 Star Force Enhancement Scrolls, and 20 Miracle Cubes. In the Miracle Boosting Festival, resetting Regular Potential up to 500 times yields 80 Miracle Cubes and 60 Memorial Scrolls. Additional Miracle Cubes and Memorial Scrolls can also be earned through weekly missions.

A Pink Bean Hot Time event is also running. For 10 days starting from the event launch date, a 2-hour daily booster increases EXP and Meso gains by 100% each, among other events. Additionally, a new character growth event is underway for players who created characters after Thursday, July 23, giving high-value rewards such as Growth Potions, Star Force Enhancement Scrolls, and Miracle Cubes.
