Pokémon Korea announced on September 3 that it will host "Pokémon Mega Festa 2026: Pikachu's Autumn Outing" from September 18 to October 11 in collaboration with the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) and the Airport Railroad Express (AREX).
The event is themed around "Pikachu in Hanbok" to promote Korean culture. On floors 1 through 3 of HiKR Ground, the main venue and KTO tourism promotion center, visitors can experience media art, exhibitions, and interactive content. On the 5th floor, a pop-up store will offer merchandise and capsule toys featuring Pikachu in Hanbok.
During the event period, the interiors of AREX Express Trains will be decorated with a Pokémon theme. Photo zones featuring Pikachu in Hanbok will be set up across AREX stations, including Incheon International Airport Terminals 1 and 2 and Seoul Station City Airport Terminal.
A stamp rally connecting Incheon International Airport Terminals 1 and 2, Seoul Station City Airport Terminal, and HiKR Ground will also take place. Participants who visit each spot and collect stamps will receive souvenirs.
An in-game tie-in event with the mobile game 'Pokémon GO' will also be held. According to Pokémon Korea, Pikachu wearing an orange Hanbok will make its in-game debut, appearing first in select areas of Jongno-gu and Jung-gu in Seoul, as well as the HiKR Station at Incheon International Airport. The spawn locations will later expand nationwide.
Floors 2 and 3 of HiKR Ground will operate on a reservation-only basis to ensure visitor safety and a comfortable viewing environment. Detailed event information can be found on the official website.
