On August 25, SOOP revamped its esports page, strengthening content discovery and user participation features.
The reorganization was based on the results of a user survey conducted earlier this year. SOOP introduced 'Today's Broadcast LIVE,' which displays leagues currently in progress or scheduled for the day, and expanded the live view area while adding a preview feature that allows users to check match progression and Drops availability.
Quests and Enter Event features were moved to the side menu, which now also displays the number of quests with obtainable Gems. After matches end, users can continuously watch replays and streamer reaction videos through 'Curated VODs,' which bundle videos related to a single topic. The community sections were also sub-divided so that sub-boards and themes can be operated for individual games.
According to SOOP, the esports page hosted an average of about 5 match predictions per day last year, totaling approximately 1,760 for the year. In 2026, 1,432 prediction events were conducted through August, and the figure is expected to approach 2,000 by the end of the year. Page views are projected to average approximately 10 million per month in 2026.
Broadcast content is also expanding. During August alone, the platform broadcasted a total of 26 tournaments, including 'LCK,' 'Pokémon World Championships (WCS),' in-house leagues 'ASL' and 'Myeolmangjeon,' as well as streamer competitions 'Jungman Cup' and 'Kkutjangjeon.' With several long-term leagues operating simultaneously, about 5 to 10 matches are being broadcast live every day.
A foundation has also been established for amateur users to participate in competitions. Through 'GGGL,' a comprehensive esports tournament platform, SOOP provides features necessary for hosting tournaments, recruiting participants, managing brackets, and operating matches.
In 2026, a total of 101 tournaments were held through GGGL, drawing a cumulative total of 11,589 participants. Local governments, schools, and clubs can run tournaments without building separate operating systems, while users can find and participate in tournaments tailored to their interests.
