On August 31, the 2026 ASL Season 22 Round of 16 group selection ceremony took place at FreecUP Studio in Seoul.

First, the seeds for each group—last season's champion Park Sang-hyun, semifinalists Shin Sang-moon and Lee Jae-ho, and wildcard No. 4 seed Jang Yoon-chul—made their selections. Park Sang-hyun picked Kim Yoon-joong, Shin Sang-moon picked Kim Kyung-mo, Lee Jae-ho picked Jung Young-jae, and Jang Yoon-chul picked Kim Jae-hyun.

Next, Kim Jae-hyun chose Lee Young-han, Jung Young-jae chose Kim Min-chul, Kim Kyung-mo chose Do Jae-wook, and Kim Yoon-joong chose Lee Jae-dong as the group lineups took shape. The remaining players were Kim Jung-woo, Kim Myung-woon, Yoo Young-jin, and Cho Il-jang. However, as the champion of the previous season, Park Sang-hyun held the crucial right to swap players between groups. After Lee Jae-dong picked Yoo Young-jin for Group A, Park Sang-hyun used his champion's privilege to swap Do Jae-wook, who was in Group B, with Lee Jae-dong.

As a result, the Round of 16 groups were fully finalized: Group A consists of Park Sang-hyun, Kim Yoon-joong, Do Jae-wook, and Yoo Young-jin; Group B features Shin Sang-moon, Kim Kyung-mo, Lee Jae-dong, and Kim Myung-woon; Group C includes Lee Jae-ho, Jung Young-jae, Kim Min-chul, and Cho Il-jang; and finally, Group D is made up of Jang Yoon-chul, Kim Jae-hyun, Lee Young-han, and Kim Jung-woo.

The 2026 ASL Season 22 Round of 16 will take place every Monday and Tuesday over two weeks, kicking off with Group A on September 7 at 7:00 PM.
