H2 Interactive has once again delayed the release date for the Japanese physical edition of '007 First Light' on Nintendo Switch 2. As the previously set late summer 2026 schedule has been withdrawn, the new release date is now TBD.

On August 31, H2 Interactive announced via its official Japanese X account that it will provide an updated release date at a later time due to various circumstances. The new schedule will be announced once finalized. On H2 Interactive's official Japanese product page, the release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 version has also been changed to "TBD." Specific reasons for the delay were not disclosed.
'007 First Light' was originally scheduled to launch on all platforms on March 27. On December 23, 2025, IO Interactive pushed the launch back two months to May 27 to further polish the game. Subsequently, on April 9, H2 Interactive delayed only the Nintendo Switch 2 physical edition to late summer 2026.
The PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) versions were released on May 27 in line with the revised schedule. For the Nintendo Switch 2 version, the release date shifted from March 27 to May 27, then to late summer, and now to TBD. Media outlet AUTOMATON counted this latest change as the third delay, including the initial all-platform pushback.
However, current information does not completely align across different regions and entities. In the body of an official press release on August 20, IO Interactive stated that the Nintendo Switch 2 version would launch "later in 2026." Conversely, the phrase "Summer 2026" remains at the end of the same press release and in the official FAQ. The product name on Korea's H2 Mall was also listed as "Scheduled to ship in summer '26" at the time of writing.
As a result, the release date change to TBD currently applies specifically to the Nintendo Switch 2 physical edition distributed by H2 Interactive in Japan. No separate announcement has been confirmed regarding whether the same change applies to the Korean physical edition or IO Interactive's global release schedule. H2 Interactive stated only "various circumstances," and no official grounds have been provided linking the cause of the delay to hardware performance or optimization issues.
